Existing Book Collection Display

As a regular monthly feature library will be displaying books on Bal Gangadhar Tilak to mark his birth anniversary on 23rd July.
Bal Gangadhar Tilak was an Indian nationalist, journalist, teacher, social reformer and lawyer who helped lay the foundation for India’s Independence. Two weekly newspapers namely KESARI and the MAHRATTA were started by him which contributed significantly to awaken the political consciousness of the people. He was conferred with the honorary title of "Lokmanya”. Tilak was one of the first and strongest advocates of "Swaraj" (self-rule) and a strong radical in Indian consciousness. His famous quote, "Swaraj is my birthright, and I shall have it!"  is well-remembered in India even today.
